Awadh ki shaam - Biryaani, Jaam aur Ghazal ke saath.......
Lucknow.........romantically and historically famous as Awadh is a non vegetarian foodies paradise. it was a romantic evening...................Somen and myself had been through lot of stress and strain, some was part of fate and some events that complicated the knock of fate even harder.
Well..........Somen said," come along let's go for a drive". So appreciating the effort he made to help our relationship come out of that stress, I agreed. Got in to my plain blue jeans and white chikankari top (his favourite) and went along with him
He drove to Clarks Awadh, a seven floor resturant. we went to the top floor and requested a table on the corner end of roof top. he ordered a whishkey for himself and bloody Mary for me. it was the first time since our marriage that I, a complete foodie was not eagerly ordering. Somen was doing it today and doing it very confidently and correctly also. by now he knew my taste so perfectly............but if he knew my taste so perfectly then why did we.........?
for the main course he ordered BIRYANI..............I just love Biryani, sunset coloured rice, each grain of it long, slender and sleek. The aroma of Biryani wraps you up completely and you are left with nothing else in the world to brood over. Somen knew my love for Biryani and when he saw me falling weak over Biryani, he took this moment to turn it into his favour............a sweetly cunning timing of his, which I actually loved..........
"I cannot change fate but I promise to be by your side always"
I knew he was right, I knew he said this straight from his heart, I knew he made an effort.................this was the best Biryani of my life!!!
