Honour Killing – The story of Pakhi – 2nd episode
Pakhi didn’t feel like making friends with anyone in class. Some were not very keen with studies and some just played it cool. There was only one girl, Aarti who was serious and studious, but then she was egoist enough not to reciprocate. It was an Arts section and students were not serious enough, on top of it, “it was just the beginning of session”.
This quest for a friend drew Pakhi to XI B, the Maths group, she finally found someone, who met her IQ and was also studious – serious like her. Pakhi and Ratika got along with each other well. They would meet up in recess time and Ratika being an old hand would help Pakhi to adjust in this new college. Pakhi was happy and working hard to make a mark in the first semester itself.
One fine morning, all of a sudden, that same boy …….whom she fought with on the very first day ………..came to her with a smile. Pakhi looked at him amazed, tall, fair, a little lanky though, but “manly cut” face………..”How are you Pakhi?” He seemed a perfect gentleman that moment, “Fine, Thank you” , Pakhi replied trying to ignore him.
“Oh you are still upset with that day’s incident”
“ Why will I be UPSET (stressing on upset), you don’t have manners and it’s your problem." Pakhi vented out.
“Oh come on……leave that now”, holding his hand in front of Pakhi, he made a proposal “FRIENDS, and why don’t you join our group……actually all of us are in dire need of a studious girl in our group”. Before Pakhi could react, “See this is Preeti, very chirpy, naughty but innocent, and this tall dark handsome man is Ketan, singer of our group. This is Ishant , the dancer and a very emotional guy…………….beware of his antics, and last but not the least , Abhi…………I mean Abhijeet, quiet guy of our group……………that’s it !!!”
“Quite a multifaceted group and by the way you have not given your introduction……………Mr. ? Pakhi asked
“Preeti jumped up to reply “He’s Saagar”
Hmmm……..Saagarji what qualities do you have ………..Saagar fumbled for a moment.
“Well, Well, let me tell you……………manners” Saagar blushed and the entire group burst out in laughter.
So finally this is how Saagar and Pakhi were introduced to each other.
Pakhi was a little suspicious ………friendship all of a sudden………but what ever it was a nice group and was fun to be in. they knew how to enjoy the age called teenage. But however much she enjoyed at school, at last she had to return home, where the definition of fun was quite different, where living was quite different……….and this difference between both the worlds of Pakhi kept on growing and she began to feel the pinch of it very soon.
